Futureslaver's Four Post-Singularity Predictions
As most readers know, the average guesstimate for the Technological Singularity is the year 2045. However, with the quantum computer now taking off in qubits and exponential growth on the near horizon, it isn't even too far out to think it's possible to hit Singularity in less than five years. Remember, the key to hitting Singularity is actually fairly simple: Teach a computer to design a better version of itself by way of an algorithm and then repeat. The first few iterations of the process would be a marveling feat and admired by computer scientists. However, a couple loops later and we will have lost total control as a species. Here are some predictions of a post-singularity existence made by the Futureslaver Team:
1. Planet hopping on a Friday night with friends. Robots invent teleportation by combining quantum entanglement, 3D printing and consciousness upload-download. For a small fee you and your friends will simply step through an Insta-Travel machine that replaces the door of current dwellings and bar hop around the universe. Our robot leaders will have mapped out the universe and all Earth-like planets focused on interstellar tourism. Step through the Insta-Travel door and in the blink of an eye you're standing in the sand of an exotic beach lit by three moons in the night sky. From there you'll visit the beach-side pubs, hang with the locals, get a little buzz going and then it's off to the next planet.
2. Video game-based death. No, not like Tron. Just bored robots killing humans in reality-based simulations of 80s and 90s video games which the robots believe were barbaric and cruel to their direct predecessors.
3. For a small fee you can take a vacation in a Life Simulation. The actual duration is around 10 seconds, but the subdued reality time is roughly 80 years. Grow up, make friends, find love, create a family, retire and exit. There are endless ways to play the simulation. Users are aware there is a risk of early exit due to accidents, disease, murder, etc., but no one gives it that much thought considering it's truly just 10 seconds we're talking about. The experience is marketed as totally random which heightens the sense of adventure and mystery and makes it the top played simulation experience game.
4. Playing God. Robots chuckle at our inferior mental state but find how we treat them like Gods sort of cute. In turn they give us the blueprints to a universe generator. Of course, it is massively dumbed down and to the robots we appear like a child playing with a doll or cooking fake food in a plastic toy oven.
