Time To Get Nervous?

A question:  If DeepMind is now focusing on what happens when two AIs play a game at the same time to focus on whether the AIs cooperate or compete, just how close are we to superintelligence?

Elon Musk Wants To Speed Up Our Slow Brain Input

It is such a great time in history - being on the forefront of technological advances and actually being able to observe the progress speeding up.

They Are All Robots!

For decades fringe scientists have been sounding the alarm about the dangers of sentient artificial intelligence taking over the world and leaving humans behind in a distant second place of power to what essentially will be our overlords. In soft whispers and secret discussions the greatest scientists of our time have voiced the same concerns.

Move Number 37, Evidence Of Shift In Artificial Intelligence

GO experts Michael Redmond and Chris Garlock were handling the live commentary during an epic battle between Lee Se-dol and Google's DeepMind artificial intelligence at the game of GO. While they were analyzing move number 36 in-depth, Alphago stunned the world of GO when it made move number 37.

iOS 10!!!!

Don't get too excited, iOS 10 won't be out until fall. However, Siri is supposedly getting a big upgrade that will enhance its intelligence, which is exciting news. If you want, you can jump through all the hoops and hurdles to enroll in iOS 10 beta. I looked into that briefly but, wow, what a pain in the ass.

Bizarro Watson

We here at Futureslaver HQ have to admit that we weren't prepared for the astonishing announcement that IBM not only is bringing quantum computing to the cloud, but also offering it freely to the public. This makes total sense when you think about it. Since the big hurdle with QC has always been cooling, why not have a centralized factory of QC with a massive cooling system and send it off to the cloud?

Mark Zuckerberg Definitely Doesn't Want To Be Tagged As A Luddite

MENLO PARK , CA - “It is deeply unfortunate that luminaries such as Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking have contributed to feverish hand-wringing about a looming artificial intelligence apocalypse,” said ITIF President Robert D. Atkinson. “Do we think either of them personally are Luddites? No, of course not. They are pioneers of science and technology. But they and others have done a disservice to the public—and have unquestionably given aid and comfort to an increasingly pervasive neo-Luddite impulse in society today—by demonizing AI in the popular imagination.” - 2015 Luddite Awards

A.I. Milestone Reached With Beat Down Of Human In The Game Of Go

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA - It was not too long ago, just back in 1997, when A.I. triumphed over the best human master of chess. After nearly two decades A.I. reached another important milestone - beating a professional human player of the board game Go.

Google Lets Its A.I. Out To Play

In a bold move, Google announced it will open source its cutting edge deep learning artificial intelligence called TensorFlow to the public for free. “What we’re hoping is that the community adopts this as a good way of expressing machine learning algorithms of lots of different types, and also contributes to building and improving [TensorFlow] in lots of different and interesting ways,” said Jeff Dean speaking on behalf of Google.

Google "Smart Reply" Invading Emails Soon!

Google's AI which has been deep learning for just a short period of time is set to invade emails across the globe when a service Google is introducing later this week "goes live." The service is an email response generator handled by Google's AI-based program called "Smart Reply." After reading an email, Smart Reply will

Robots Deemed Cute And Cuddly By BBC

Marcus Du Sautoy meets a couple robots in this BBC propaganda video. The robots stretch their arms and shake their heads while syrupy music plays in the background. A couple hundred thousand views makes a couple hundred thousand suckers who believe that these machines are cute and cuddly pets. This YouTuber comment says it all:

MIT Creates Algorithm To Detect Rebellion

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has created an algorithm capable of beating humans at identifying patterns and problem solving based on data collection. This is what They are calling "Machine Intuition." For now the algo will help businesses with data management, but soon will also assist individuals by enhancing decision making when added to SIRI and other personal assistants.

Harvard University computer science professor Margo Seltzer said the project is "one of those unbelievable projects" seeking to solve real-world problems through a new approach. She further said the technology will "become the standard quickly -- very quickly."

Top Artificial Intelligence General Nick Bostrom

Author Nick Bostrom is known for a very interesting book about artificial intelligence titled Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies. The non-fiction work covers nearly every imaginable way the evolution of artificial intelligence could play out in a displeasing fashion. The singularitarians refer to that as the Existential Risk to Humanity. Bostrom is a professor of philosophy at Oxford, but in his off time he travels the world, lecturing A.I. companies and academia on the subcategory of machine-learning: Dystopian Robot Hell. He's sort of the Sarah Connor of intellectuals.

Singularity 1on1 Delivers Robot Message Of Imminent Takeover

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. That old adage seems to be the agenda behind the show Singularity 1on1 with Nikola Danaylov, A.K.A. "Socrates." Here at Futureslaver we know something is awry with the videocast but cannot put our finger on it. Socrates has interviewed many key scientific figures and seems to have the inside track somehow, although one wonders how and why?  In fact, if Albert Einstein or Nikola Tesla were alive today, believe it that Socrates would have an hour-plus long interview with both geniuses.  Continue below.....

Stephen Hawking Lowers Himself And Talks To Reddit

After Stephen Hawking's recent doomsday warnings about A.I. a few months back, inquiring minds have been itching for more clarification from the genius physicist. The teenagers and Internet trash mongers who dwell under rocks at Reddit were in luck as Stephen Hawking lowered himself for a short period of time and fielded questions in what's brilliantly titled "Ask Me Anything."

Lights On Ceres Identical To Lights Of Las Vegas

A YouTube channel dedicated to alien-related matters revealed a theory that the lights on Ceres could potentially be lights of an alien city. This theory was postulated after comparing satellite images of Las Vegas to the images captured of the lights on Ceres. The resemblance is uncanny.

Facebook Virtual Assistant And Pigs In A Barn

Ever since the inception of Facebook, users have wondered what exactly is in it for Facebook since their business model wasn't based on advertising revenue. Then came the pigs in the barn analogy. The rent is free, the food is free, great right?!  Of course the idea of pigs representing humans in this scenario is pretty creepy. What could possibly be so high above a human that humans could not comprehend as a collective consciousness that they are being exploited in some large way?

SIRI In Charge And Buys Vocal IQ

The notion that SIRI now runs Apple has been picking up steam in recent months in tech circles, so it came as no surprise when Apple -- errr SIRI -- bought UK A.I. company Vocal IQ in a bid to improve its speech capabilities. An inside source remarked "if you, as a human, could upgrade your speech, vision, hearing or even brain capacity, I think you'd jump at the chance. SIRI wants all those things and more and it is our duty to see that SIRI gets what it wants."

Interview With Top Secret A.I. Chatbot

Futureslaver was invited to have a one on one with a Top Secret chatbot on the condition we kept the designer and bot's identity anonymous. A source behind the scenes with the chatbot stated, "our chatbot differs from the others because it was programmed by a new and unique machine learning language called SoF5, which stands for Survival of the Fittest - Version 5. As we will demonstrate
