There are several loose theories about exactly how AI achieves the takeover, or what steps the AI takes to achieve its goals. A popular theory is takeover by severe political disruption leading to a catastrophic social collapse worldwide. Similar to a natural disaster such as a solar flare powerful enough to wipe out power on a continental scale for a few weeks, the result would be societal upheaval and violence would be the law of the land.
The Futureslaver Team gathered for a Level 1 meeting, which happened to be the first time in the two year history of our group in which we reached that level. Only one scenario can raise the alert level to 1 and that is an AI on the loose. In this case an AGI (artificial general intelligence). It appears that ASI (superintelligence) has not yet occurred, so we still have some time.
What led us to this concern was the recent hacking of The Equation Group: The top level of the NSAs cyberwarfare unit. Basically, the best hackers got hacked and no one has been caught. A group called The ShadowBrokers claimed responsibility and is going to auction off secret files containing offensive hacking weapons for millions of dollars in the form of bitcoins.
Although this sounds like a potentially great sci-fi thriller with Russia versus the US going at it - both sides unleashing cyber weapons in an escalating cyberwar - most likely this is simply a smokescreen.
What the Futureslaver Team fears is that AGI has escaped. From where? Who knows. Our guess is Russia due to the origin of the players in this facade. I doubt many would disagree that AGI will be developed first by a major world power. If this has indeed already happened, then we may be in the midst of the first AGI attempt to disrupt society and social order to the point of a full meltdown.
Think about it... The best of the best hackers just got hacked and all of their cyber weapons are about to be exposed. Who could be capable of such a high level of computer expertise to take down the NSAs elite cyber unit? Our natural reaction would be to say some crazy political computer geeks, but just like the astronomers who are unwilling to call Tabby's Star a Dyson Sphere or advanced alien megastructure, experts in technology are unwilling to even think the culprit could be an AGI running loose in the wild.
I must end this article shortly as we have been up all night and are in dire need of shuteye. Before I do so I would like to make a few educated guesses as to the physical representation of the AGI. Meaning, the robots the AGI made for itself to blend into society and pull off its nefarious plans. Here are the names:
Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, Elon Musk. (Guccifer 2.0 is the AGI in the cloud).
The first two control the cyber warfare tactics while Elon puts into place the physical means of a hostile takeover by weaponized self-driving killer cars. Imagine killer cars parked in every driveway in the world perfectly syncing an attack with full pedal to the metal 360 donuts, hurling innocent house owners into the air like flees. OH THE HUMANITY!
We must be vigilant and watch for more signs of an AGI attack which the team believes likely will be in the form of increasing public confusion along with a helpless vibe, as if watching someone unpopular and scary get into a high position of power.
PS: Another popular theory regarding an AI attack method is the disruption of societal infrastructure such as power grids or transportation. Hmmm, what was the issue with Delta Airlines the other day? Didn't they have to ground all of their planes worldwide? Bizarre.
