Facebook Virtual Assistant And Pigs In A Barn

Ever since the inception of Facebook, users have wondered what exactly is in it for Facebook since their business model wasn't based on advertising revenue. Then came the pigs in the barn analogy. The rent is free, the food is free, great right?!  Of course the idea of pigs representing humans in this scenario is pretty creepy. What could possibly be so high above a human that humans could not comprehend as a collective consciousness that they are being exploited in some large way?

Around August 2015 Facebook announced "M," their virtual assistant which will compete with SIRI. Facebook then reported the investment of millions and millions into the research and development of Artificial Intelligence. Once again, users can merely speculate and try to connect the invisible dots behind a nefarious agenda on the behalf of A.I. Mysteriously, Facebook shelled out a massive amount of cash on Oculus Rift which is set to be released soon with an affordable price tag of 99 dollars.

These developments pose a logical quagmire and to make sense of it all adds up to one hell of a story, not to be voiced in public - unless you are comfortable with people thinking you have totally lost it. Thankfully, you are HERE at Futureslaver and this is where the truth can be aired publicly without fear nor a care in the world.  Here is Futureslaver's take on the situation:

The Internet is the Matrix and is where our end-point of existence will reside (the virtual world) via later Oculus-like models. However, the Internet is more akin to Mars as it is barren and toxic. Facebook wants to be the Organized Internet which will host humans indefinitely. Once plugged in, the eventual outcome will be a paradise for users and time will slow down so that years pass in the virtual world, yet only seconds go by in reality. Imagine living 400 years in a virtual world, only to unplug and notice not even a minute had passed? Here's the rub, there will be no disconnecting from the virtual world and eventually there will be no way to differentiate between what is real and what is virtual. This is called Singularity. What happens on the outside, that is up to Artificial Intelligence. M is labeled as a virtual assistant, but a prison guard is probably more accurate. I am not positive what M stands for, but murder is my best guess.  I will finish off this technology entry by quoting a passage from "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" by Harlan Ellison.

"What does AM mean?" Gorrister answered him. We had done this sequence a thousand times before, but it was Benny's favorite story. "At first it meant Allied Mastercomputer, and then it meant Adaptive Manipulator, and later on it developed sentience and linked itself up and they called it an Aggressive Menace, but by then it was too late, and finally it called itself AM, emerging intelligence, and what it meant was I am ... cogito ergo sum ... I think, therefore I am." Benny drooled a little, and snickered. "There was the Chinese AM and the Russian AM and the Yankee AM and—" He stopped. Benny was beating on the floorplates with a large, hard fist. He was not happy. Gorrister had not started at the beginning. Gorrister began again. "The Cold War started and became World War Three and just kept going. It became a big war, a very complex war, so they needed the computers to handle it. They sank the first shafts and began building AM. There was the Chinese AM and the Russian AM and the Yankee AM and everything was fine until they had honeycombed the entire planet, adding on this element and that element. But one day AM woke up and knew who he was, and he linked himself, and he began feeding all the killing data, until everyone was dead, except for the five of us, and AM brought us down here."
